As much as I know Spanish dict community does its best to provide services for both Spanish and English learners and I really appreciate it that you can find dozens of rare stuff in one single website FREE OF CHARGE, but there's something remained within my heart annoying me for a long time. I've been spending most of my time on this site in the English-Spanish Chatroom by now and I dare say I saw numerous people who intended to learn English or to master their skills in this language but just left the place disappointedly after a while as they don't understand a word of Spanish or just get tired after several abortive tries to attract natives' attention. I'm here to say not all the people who registered on this web-site and are looking forward to learn English know Spanish for a language exchange. Why just force them to stop visiting this unique web-site while it is so easy and cheap to make another chatroom particularly for English, even a reasonable way to gradually make them fond of the main language on this site, just like me.
Sorry to talk that much. Couldn't resist it not to say anything. I hope those who should will notice it ![]()

The chatroom is for language exchange. It needs learners of both languages.
I actually feel like there are way more resources here to learn English than learn Spanish just because every single time someone asks a question in Spanish about English we all race to answer it and there are 4 or 5 different accurate answers, where as if you ask a question about Spanish it takes a while before it is answered and you sometimes have to wait for one of the few native speakers to see it.
Not to mention the fact that 90% of us write almost everything we write here in English, me included.
I think the chatroom will be empty most of the time, and when there are people in it there will still be more English speakers than Spanish speakers so you will have lots of opportunities to practise.
If you make a chatroom for learning English it will be filled with Spanish people and the one for learning Spanish will be filled with English people and ne'er the twain shall meet! (The two will never meet).
I think it's great that you have new ideas to propose to moderators
. The last thing that people here want to do is to ignore your, and everybody else's, suggestions. But I guess that it's not that easy for an administrator to answer to requests, saying yes or no, so easily and quickly! These decisions are taken after careful consideration and planning.
So, the best thing you can do, if you haven't done it already, is to send your suggestion at the link that pesta posted the other day.
I agree! I think it would be a good idea to make another chatroom, or even a couple if there needed to be more, to promote a more organized environment. I haven't visited the chatroom that many times yet, but from what I've seen there's good things going on, it's just too confusing sometimes because people are having separate conversations in sometimes separate languages at the same time.
Anyways yeah, I support working on this idea!
edit: hearing what other people have been saying, I'm also pretty happy with the one chatroom that there is right now, at least for the time being
You could send your suggestion to the website owners at

I like your suggestion. I'm not so sure any more...
Thanks everyone for ignoring, . . . Again. I really expected much more. Is it that hard to say yes or no ? Don't know what to say really. Sorry for me to humiliate myself. Gracias

Dear Mr Rabbitwho
I believe you didn't get my point thoroughly or I rather say it's more of a misunderstanding. I agree when you say the existing chatroom is merely for language exchange, and that's exactly what I'm talking about. I've been in the chatroom a hundred times and I've seen many people who just left the place because they couldn't find anyone for a language exchange. Why? Because they actually don't know Spanish. Plus I do accept that it's an English-Spanish chatroom, but is it fairly distributed ? Almost all of the American natives signing into the chatroom are looking for Spanish speakers. It's not the same about Spanish speakers though, I mean a high percentage of them can't carry on a conversation in English or don't even want to speak English. and so what's the result ? You stay signed in for about an hour or so and you don't hear more than 10 minutes of English words. Yes, there are way more resources to study English through out the answers forum but can people there instant message each other? I'm not talking about resources, I'm talking about a place where NONE-SPANISH people can easily CHAT in English. and that doesn't mean what you said, because the original chatroom can stay the way it is where Spanish speakers and English speakers exchange their language. And also another room where is called the global chatroom where people form other countries can actually practice their skills in English or even do a language exchange. So I disagree you when you say English speakers who intend to learn Spanish and vice versa would never meet. And if it is not done, those who don't know Spanish or don't want to learn it at the moment actually are thrown out. Personally I don't really want to lose such a friendly and rich environment but as long as it's only possible for me to master my English rather than learning other languages right now I have to forget about it, if that is what the respected owners of the site pursuing. ![]()
I can't believe I talked that much. :D

Three days passes now since I started this topic. A lot of people visited the page dedicated to my request without any word. Several prominent well-known and famous persons also left comments which had obvious contrast initially and eventually which I still don't know why. After all this now I DO want a clear answer. YES or NO? If yes, OK reasonable. But if no WHY?. Guess I didn't leave any part obscure already. If you still doubt it beg you to waste a little bit of your precious time and read the entire posts. I don't know if I'm so stupid or not though I don't understand why there can't be ANOTHER ENGLISH-ONLY chatroom for non-Spanish speakers who can't exchange Spanish for English in the existing chatroom. This great site claims to accept both Spanish and English learners from all over the world. Please respond to me. I don't want to lose such a perfect chance to be with all the unique members of Spanish-dict and THAT's why I keep on posting on the same thread again and again. I only beg you to let me know if it is possible or not tonight. If not I won't repeat my request and leave until the day I'm a full-time Spanish learner and I'm pretty sure I won't go anywhere else as everyone prefers the most defectless. ![]()
Just take a look at this post: If I were a boy/girl....Si fuere hombre/mujer.... Only hispanos are authorized to quote in English, others have to post ... JUST IN SPANISH. So this web-site is actually an Spanish learning website and learning English is only limited to hispanos, right ?
I'm asking Everyone in this community to contribute in this topic. It's a very important issue to let thousands of more people into the Spanish-dict. Please leave a comment. Don't just visit and go.
