How do I say, "I'm waiting for my husband" or "I'm just waiting for my husband"?

I'd use the "a", although here this is not a preposition but just the personal a. Also, because the action is being done right at that moment, I'd use the present progressive.

(Solo) Estoy esperando a mi marido.

In any case, whethet you choose the simple present or the present progressive, you have to include the personal "a" - Deanski, Sep 11, 2011
Thanks. This is also the answer I got yesterday when I asked 2 hablantes. They kept saying it just sounded better. - katydew, Sep 14, 2011

You would simply say "espero mi marido" or "soló espero mi marido" because esperar is "to wait for" in this instance.

I think you would need the personal 'a' Eddy :) - Kiwi-Girl, Sep 11, 2011
