I need urgent help with a sausage
http://www.centellesybuj.com/home.html
I have one of those fat ones on the right since before Christmas with a best before date this September 20th. Thing is I have no idea what it is, what to do with it, if it needs to be cooked, if it smells okay... etc... Advice?

It appears to be a cured sausage, like salami. Cured sausage is generally shelf-stable, if kept in a cool, dry place. Once opened, however, it requires refrigeration and doesn't last as long.
Get a sharp knife. Cut some off and put on a plate with fresh green olives stuffed with garlic, nice big jalapenos, tomatoes, cucumber and red onions. Then wash it down with a couple or twelve nice cold cervezas.
Never look at the sell by date, it just confuses the belly ![]()
Enjoy! yummy yummy![]()

What??
Rabbit, don't you remember the mantra from yesterday?
When in doubt, throw it out!!!

I would hate to have a sick little rabbit on our hands! ![]()

Don't throw it out. Give it to me. I'm not scared. I'll eat it. I have an iron stomach.
Rabbit, I follow the general six month rule with frozen foods. Even if it smells good and does not make you sick, it will probably not taste very well. Flavor is a problem when meat is held for a long period of time.
I agree with Sanlee. Throw it out.
throw it away
There are too many questions about this sausage. It seems like it has been around too long, even though the sell by date may indicate otherwise. I would recommend throwing it out. (Has it been frozen all this time?? That may make a difference.) However, do you really want to take a chance?
I don't see which you are talking about, as for me the home page comes up, can you give us the page where the sausage appears?
Or the name? Is it lomo?
Most cured sausages last for 10 years or more.
