"Todavía bajo construcción"

Question

What's the best way to say this? I mean what would you normally see on a web site that is still not finished although it has some information? Construendose ?

By the way, the "gerundio" is construyéndose. To form it, take the root, e.g. viv-ir, and add the regular ending -iendo (-ando for verbs in -ar): viv + -iendo = viviendo. In this case, though, you have constru + -iendo = construiendo, but with ALL verbs without an exception, when you have an unstressed i between two vowels, like uie, the i always (I repeat: always) changes to y. This i, by the way, is naturally pronounced like y too. This is not an irregularity, since it it completely systematic, and even applies to irregular verbs. Any "gerundio" ending in vowel + -er/-ir will experience the same systematic changes.

I think I've seen the phrase 'En obras' used in this context on websites.

It's the same phrase that's used on signs in the street when there's road works or construction going on.

By the way, I've read a lot on the web about how it's bad practice to put an 'Under construction' sign on a website - you may want to Google it for more info.

"En obras" is indeed the most common sign you see, but the question was about translating the original sentence, and "Todavía en obras" sounds fine. - lazarus1907, Sep 7, 2011
