Hello I am new to using the answers section of SpanishDict.com.
I was wondering was the green tick on some of the questions means?
Does it mean that the person asking the question is happy with one of the answers given?

Yeah, it means they "accepted" one of the answers, generally meaning they were happy with it/it was well answered/etc.

Great answer by unMica.
I would like to add that once a thread has an accepted answer, many people will not view the thread because it is "complete".
To get the best answers to a question in the future, don't hurry to accept an answer until you see that everyone has had a chance to add their ideas. Then you compare and decide.
The first answers are not always the best, and sometimes they may even be wrong.
