And still another view, from one who gets scolded for doing it wrong most of the (time)
Spain has its stuctured way of stating the time, México has as many variations as we have Méxicans it seems.
"Son Las" seems universal, with the exception of 1:00 ( son la una y minutos)
Here in mexico we can hear several versions for the same time:
Son las diez y cuarenta cinco.
Son las diez y tres cuartos
Son las once menos quince
son las diez falta quince.
I have heard them all.
Typically concert times are posted using the 24 hour clock
" concert starts at 20:00"
In my opinion any form will work and you will be understood. It will be interesting to hear from native speakers around our Spanish speaking world to see if there are yet more variations.
Hey Shonie00
The lesson for numbers and time in SpanishDict is this one:

If you prefer to read an article instead of view a video, which may sometimes be quicker, then check this source:
http://spanish.about.com/cs/forbeginners/a/telling_time.htm
If you are only interested in this particular time reading - even though I'm only a beginner - I agree with everyone else on this translation:
Son las once menos cuarto de la mañana
Good luck
Han pasado diez cuarenta y cinco de la mañana.
