Hi Ian. Have you seen this thread: the runaround

...or this one: dar largas

Maybe you could try something like No me gusta que me den largas.

Let's hope that Spanish speakers are more polite and that the concept does not exist in Spanish cultures. - 0074b507, Sep 4, 2011
Thank you Iza - It would seem that "dar largas" comes closest. But yet again this answer indicates to me that there are many expressions in English that have no equivalent in Spanish - ian-hill, Sep 5, 2011

Thank you Iza - It would seem that "dar largas" comes closest.

But yet again this answer indicates to me that there are many expressions in English that have no equivalent in Spanish.

I have frequently looked at our Phrasebook and have noticed that many idiomatic English expressions are "explained" in normal Spanish - almost as if no idiomatic Spanish expression exists.

In comparison there are very few idiomatic Spanish expressions.

Is this one reason why Spanish speakers learning English find it difficult to learn?

Do others agree?
