Argentinian Spanish?

Question

How is Argentinian Spanish different from the one we are learning here? Are those differences very significant or are just limited to a few words/phrases? Could you give some examples?

One striking difference with other varieties of Spanish is that Argentinian Spanish maintains pronouns and verbal forms used in the 16th century in Spain (and not only Argentina). Thus, while someone in Mexico or Spain say "Ven tú", in Argentina they'd say "Vení vos". These verb differences only affect the 2nd person singular of the present indicative and imperative; all other verbal forms are the same as everywhere else. These forms are much more regular, so it takes very little time and effort to get used to them, and in any case, practically everyone in Argentina can use and understand the "tú" forms.

Phonetically, the digraph LL and the letter Y are pronounced in three different ways depending on the region, but the most common one pronounces both like J in "jury" in English (sometimes like SH in "ship"). The S is commonly pronounced as an aspiration, like in many other countries.

In terms of vocabulary, it has its own colloquial vocabulary, like any other country, but the differences are not so great, so you can speak without much trouble if you speak Spanish from any other country.

Hola, Te recomendable que busques "Argentinismos" ahí vas a encontrar frases y palabras, En el español Argentino en especial el de la provincia de Bs. As. (Porteño) tiene influencia el italiano (es el que actualmente se escucha en la tv). Ej.: Vos = Usted; Chau = Adiós (No es igual a Hola, Solo se utiliza para despedirse [el origen de la palabra es el ciao italiano]) Pibe = Niño

En el norte argentino existen otras variaciones, en el Noroeste el lenguaje esta influenciado por el Quichua, y en el Nordeste por el guaraní.
