El mago concedió la petición. Más tarde el mago se encontró con la Muerte , preguntandole. ¿ Porq qué miraba al " hombre"? La Muerte respondió: Me sorprendi ¿ por qué tengo que buscarlo en la India?

The next part says in Spanish, "Later the magician met" I think you meant to write "After arriving in India the servant saw Death again." He asked Death, "why did you stare at me?" Death replied, " I was surprised. I knew I was to meet you in India."
I meant that the magician was asking the Death not the victim himself.
