how do you use the verb "conocer" to mean 'met' Do you use the preterite tense. For example, if I wanted to say "we met on the train..."

Nos conocimos en el tren (since its a mutual action you would make it reflexive)

yes amar and querer are quite similar....amar is used more frequently in romantic context though!
