I don't really have a preference. There are a large number of different Spanish accents. The Caribbean accents are interesting (Cuban, Venezuelan, Puerto Rican, etc.), though a bit fast and loose if you're not used to it.
I am accustomed to the accent of northern Mexico, and can differentiate it from that of the south of the country, I am told I speak with the accent of the north. Whether I prefer it or not I cannot really say, as I still have a lot of learning ahead. I enjoy listing to the speech patterns of Spain and Argentina as well however.
I prefer the accent of Mexico, not because it sounds nicer or for any reason other than the fact that it is the sound I am most accustomed to. I have been surrounded by people from Mexico my entire life. Although I have met a few people from Spain and spoken with them very briefly, I really struggle when I do hear Spanish speaking natives talking.
I think you will find the opposite view from those who live in Europe and who are more accustomed to hearing people from Spain speak. ![]()
To me it doesnt matter which accent the person is talking to me in, but if i had to choose, i would piock the mexican accent
I still find the Spanish accent a little hard to follow. The real struggle is simply trying to get native speaker to slow down a little. I have only been learning for a few months and I still find it hard to hear different words not mattr what the accent.
And they say Australians speak fast lol
Which Mexican accent? Which Spanish accent? Really though I don't know anymore. I grew up playing soccer with Mexican teammates and coaches my whole life, but now that I'm branching out on the internet and talking to people in Spain I seem to have picked up the seseo (yes I researched this) even though no one I've ever heard speak in real life uses it.
I actually think I'm kinda funny, because I will say some very Mexican things in a Spanish accent. We always get a good laugh out of it until I say something Spanish to a Mexican friend. Then they just look at me kinda creeped out like =/
I personally like Spain's more for example I like the "they" sound at the end of the numbers like once or doce. "One-they" Do-they"
The Spanish accent, by far. It's so smooth.
I have no real live experience with Latin American speakers, but i have spend 2 weeks in Catalunya and what they speak over there is unintelligible for a novice student.![]()
