Eco meaning Gossip

I am going to ask this again on this thread, but this time in English. Is eco actually used to mean gossip? Is this meaning (given as part of the Word of the Day) regional or just unusual? Because I have never heard anything other than chisme, and the only comments I got on my earlier post seemed to be in agreement.

Eco, like in English, in Spanish would mean "repetir". now if you say "No vayas a repetir esto que te voy a decir", you know it is going to be "published" FAST.
