How do I translate folio into English

I am helping my wife translate her high school degree into English (for a warehouse position), they told her that it doesn't need to be professionally translated, and everything has gone smoothly until "Licencia Folio: 274...". Any ideas? (She is Chilean, if that is relevant)

My wife is telling me that it is like "Registration Number". Does that sound right? - nicholascookerly, Aug 30, 2011
That sounds right to me. - LuisCache, Aug 30, 2011

Folio can be translated as "file" or "folio". The translation is appropriate for legal documents like the one you are translating at this moment. It is not really the registration number but the page, leaf or part of the book of records in the Notary's office where the legal act or proceeding has been registered.

En este caso creo que "Folio 274"

wink

If you want it in modern English "Page 274" will do too.
