Apple In Crisis

Now that Steve Jobbs, is 'jobless', Apple will probably struggle to stay at the top, the cream of the crops. After having been diseased with cancer, the toil is taking its affect on Steve, with pale skin, sickened appearance etc. Will Tim Cook, his replacement, strive Apple to stay at its greatest, or will it be forgotten? Feel free to put in your ideas about this event that will go down in history.........

What's this to do with Spanish or English? Why are you posting under "Vocabulary & Grammar" ? Please give your posts more thought before submitting. - pesta, Aug 29, 2011
You misspelled Apple's founder's name, too. :) - pesta, Aug 29, 2011
... strive "to keep" Apple at its greatest ... - territurtle, Aug 29, 2011
sno its strive Apple for a cause - BlackFire, Aug 29, 2011

Sorry you had that bad experience mate , I have an Ipod and it is fantastic for downloading podcasts etc and it is all free , but then I have all Apple products , maybe one day you could get a cheap used Imac and then you will be home on the pigs back. - ray76, Aug 30, 2011
What you could do my friend is to find someone who has an Imac or Ipad and get them to download all you need . I do that for friends here. - ray76, Aug 30, 2011

Hi Ray, grin

My MacMini, My MacBook, My wife's MacBook. Those guys invented the personal computer, the company will never die.

Mi MacMini, mi MacBook, el MacBook de mi mujer. Ellos inventaron el ordenador personal, es que la empresa no morirá jamás.

Please post relevant topics for learning Spanish and English language and culture. I see from your recent post history that you are fishing for reputation points. This kind of post will not get you there.

As a self-assessed "Intermediate" level student of Spanish, I would expect more from you. Set yourself a goal related to your learning Spanish. You'll get much more out of that, including rep points.

Well, I thought we could post anything under "General" ... as long as it's "family suitable" ... we've even had religious, political, and moral discussions (albeit Heidita did shut some of them down). - webdunce, Aug 29, 2011
@Webdunce, yes you're right. Look at BlackFire's posting history and judge for yourself. That's what I did. - pesta, Aug 29, 2011
I don't object to general discussions as a rule, you know that. But what about a newbie who comes here to post about Steve Jobs, says he wants rep points, and has contributed nothing re: Spanish...? - pesta, Aug 29, 2011
BlackFire has had a post closed on him and been instructed to post such things at International Cafe. - pesta, Aug 29, 2011
He also posted offered translations for ""for well educated people" - territurtle, Aug 29, 2011
True, but in my opinion it will take a few more helpful posts to overcome the smudge of a blatant effort to game the system for rep points. :) - pesta, Aug 29, 2011

Apple's philosophy has always been restrictive. The only period in the company's history that the philosophy changed was when Steve Jobs left the company for NEXT. The result was that Apple was ready to close. After Jobs was back as the CEO the history changed and we all know and see the results. Apple is the most successful and innovative company in the world.

There is a whole conversation about Apple's restrictions in several fora. Most people believe that this is the key to success for the company. Apple is a software and hardware company at the same time. Their machines are optimized to run certain software, while the software is optimized to run in these machines. This is where Microsoft fails. They produce software and distribute it to several hardware companies to run it in millions of different configurations machines. The result is poor user experience (if you use a Mac, you know what I am talking about). So Jobs says that I'll make the hardware and software as I want and you have to be sure that it just works. This is the point. If you want to play with your machines and hack it around and change components and, and, and.... then Apple is not for you.

As for his resignation as a CEO, I believe that nothing is going to change until he is among us. He reassured everyone that he will be the Director of the Board so everything that goes around will have his signature. If he decides to leave the company and stay at home, then it will be a huge change. For now, it is just a change in his responsibilities, so his life will become less stressful.

Yo creo que apple no puede estar en crisis ya que es una gran empresa.

I think that apple may not be in crisis because it is a great company.

Hola, Blackfire.

As Pesta said, this topic should not be under "Vocabulary and Grammar", but rather "General Discussions". I edited your post for you.

If Steve Jobs personally left Mr. Cook in charge, he's probably a good choice, no?

Steve Jobs must be in a very critical condition if he was asked to step down from CEO to chairman of the board

He was asked to step down? I thought he chose to resign. He knew his health was inconsistent, and he wanted the best for his company. If he voluntarily stepped down, I'd say what he did was most admirable.
