Me baño-- is this correct to say "I take a bath"?
Is it correct to say "Me baño" in order to say "I take a bath" even if baño actually is a noun?

Yes, this is correct
Bañarse is listed in the Oxford Spanish Dictionary as being a pronominal verb with reflexive endings:
bañarse v pron (refl)
It works in a similar manner to a reflexive verb and is conjugated in exactly the same way.You can think of a reflexive verb as one where you do the action to yourself
ie I wash myself, I bathe myself.
It is conjugated like this:
Me baño
te bañas
se baña
nos bañamos
os bañáis
se bañan
I hope this helps
In Spain we use "bañarse" for "to take a bath" and "ducharse" for "to take a shower", since "baño" is bath and "ducha" is shower.
When I am going to the shower I say " voy a bañarme" just another way of saying I am going to bathe myself.
bañarse (to take a bath, bathe [oneself])
Pronoun | English | Spanish |
I / yo | ..I take a bath, am taking a bath.. | ..me baño.. |
you / tú | ..you take a bath.. | ..te bañas.. |
you-he-she / Ud.él-ella | ..you take/-he-she takes a bath.. | ..se baña.. |
we / nosotros, -as | ..we take a bath.. | ..nos bañamos.. |
you / vosotros, -as | ..you (all) take a bath.. | ..os bañáis.. |
they / Uds./ellos, ellas | ..they take a bath.. | ..se bañan.. |
I'd say it is correct.
Bañar is a verb, see here.
From a practical standpoint, you should also know that in many countries "bañarse" is used to say that you are going to shower. Mexico for sure, and probably much of Central America. Maybe even Latin American as a whole.
Voy a bañarme / Me voy a bañar I'm going to take a shower
If you want to say you're going to bathe in a tub, then you would say....
Voy a bañarme en la tina I'm going to take a bath (in the bath tub)
I think she means since el baño means the bathroom, could you say I'm going to the bathroom to take a bath.
