The differences between American political parties
The following descriptions of the party positions on the hypothetical proposal to start driving on the other side of the road are based on their recent positions on other issues:
Republican: This is too big of a change to do all at once; we need to start gradually and see how things go. People whose last names starts with A through E will start driving on the other side on Monday.
Democrat: This is too big an issue for the private sector to handle, so all roads will be nationalized and private driving is prohibited starting Monday. We hope to have a federal transportation system implemented soon.
Libertarian: The Governement has no right to tell us which side of the road to drive on.
Green: People shouldn't drive on either side of the road: it's bad for the environment. All driving is banned starting on Monday.
Constitution Party: This is a States' Rights issue: each state should be free to decide which side of the road to drive on, and to change their mind whenever they feel like it.
American Party: Driving on the right was good enough for Jesus, so it's good enough for the citizens of America. You should also be sure to drive an American made car, just like Jesus did.
