what does crokking means?
I'm reading a book about shamanism and I can't find the meaning of "crokking". The writer mention this word like this: "crokking plants, animals...", but it's impossible to me to find the meaning. I'll be very grateful if you could help me. Thank you in advance.
Best regards,

Hola Olga,
I once read a science fiction novel - this is a long time ago, so my memory is a bit dim, but it might have been "Stranger in a Strange Land", by Robert Heinlein - in which the invented verb "to grok" was introduced. "Grokking" is the act of understanding plants or animals so thoroughly that you become one with them, like a supernatural empathic group experience.
Perhaps "crokking" is the same?
Just a thought. Maybe it will make sense to you in this context!

Una vez leí una novela de ciencia ficción - esto es después de muchos años, así que mi memória no es claro, pero pudiera haber sido "Stranger in a Strange Land", por Robert Heinlein - en que el verbo inventado "to grok" fue presentado. "Grokking" signifaca el acto de comprender las plantas o los animales tanto que se une completamente con ellos, como si fuera una experiencia superempática y religiosa.
Esto es nomás que una idea. Espero que tiene sentido para tí en este contexto.

As Jeremias says I suspect the word you are looking for is "grokking", to understand profoundly through intuition or empathy.
And as Shamanism is an anthropological term referencing a range of beliefs and practices regarding communication with the spiritual world it would appear that grokking may be what you are searching for.
The word "crokk" does not exist in English (unless the author "invented" it)
Crock is the closest and can mean a number of things including:
an old car or person or a large pot made of clay.
"to Crock" as a verb seems to me to be just about possible but very unusual.
"to be crocked" can mean to be drunk - according my dictionary.
The word that comes closest to that sound for me is "crocking", which means cooking in a crock pot. I'm sure this is not what you are looking for.
