Mona Lisa is a painting, a portrait by the Florentine (Italian) artist Leonardo da Vinci. It is on permanent display at the Musée du Louvre in Paris.

She was painted by Leonardo da Vinci (an Italian), but she is now on display in Paris. smile I visited her, but the crowd was so huge that I only got to see her from like 30 feet away. She's in this thick glass case and there are ropes around it so you can't really get close raspberry

It is believed that the woman in the Mona Lisa painting is Lisa Gherardini. She married Francesco del Giocondo who commissioned the painting.

The Mona Lisa was stolen in the early 20th century from the Louve, it is believed that the theft helped make the Mona Lisa the famous work of art that it is today.
