Los corsos...

En este momento estoy leyendo "Yo" de Ricky Martin y necesito ayuda con una oración o especificamente una palabra en este libro.
Aquí están las oraciones en total..
"Mi abuela nació en Puerto Rico, y era de descendencia corsa. Los corsos tenemos fama de ser muy tercos, y mi abuela no fue ninguna excepción: era una mujer muy fuerte que nunca le temió a nada."
He buscado por la palabra "corsa/los corsos" en el internet pero el único "corso/corsa" puedo encontrar es sobre un coche :(

I was going to say that it might be their surname, then I wanted to be sure, and I found this.
