¿Por qué?...

Luis, I know this situation grieves the Mexican people and caring people all over the world. These things happen in other countries, too. It seems there are always people wanting to cause trouble or be in control. Consider Norway a few weeks ago, or the US (Oklahoma bombing 1994, or many other situations).
Although Mexico has more than its share of problems now, I believe the government is making an effort to insure the problem does not extend to areas not currently controlled by the cartels. Once the problem is contained, I believe they can concentrate on restoring order to the chaotic regions in the north.
I believe it is fair to say that most of Mexico's cartel problems are caused by the US' insatiable appetite for drugs. It turns out now the US government actually sold weapons to drug cartels.
I don't understand the situation, but I know Mexico is a beautiful country with wonderful people. I hope for the best.
I saw that On the local news channel here. Horror of horrors.
Monterrey has been fairly quiet, but the new game in town is extortion or ( protection).
Burning businesses is the result of not paying your protection money, it has happened here in Chihuahua a few times already that I am aware of, but murdering innocents Is quite another chapter in this dirty game.
I cannot conceive of a punishment severe enough for those that so carelessly regard life.
To say that this incident is saddening and troubling is an understatement. My heart goes out to families and friends of the victims and to all those who are impacted.
Pacofinkler and Dogwood have expressed what my shocked an aching heart cannot.
This horror is beyond any human bounds
At first I thought this was a protest against gambling on the part of some extremists but when I got more information I realized that it was probably revenge. I agree with sentiments already expressed. It was completely senseless.
