can you check my sentences?

Question

1. Espejo que mis padres compranme cincuenta y cinco perros en la Navidad.

I hope that my parents buy me 55 dogs on Christmas.

1. El niño va a la escuela a las ocho menos cuarto de la mañana.

The child go to the school at 7:45A.M.

1. Tú estás durmiendo por treinta mil veintinueve segundos porque tú estas cansado.

You are sleeping for 30029 seconds because you are tired.

Question 2: The English is more like... "The child goes/ will go to school at 7:45 A.M."

I'm not sure what you mean in the 3rd question.

Spanish translation: El niño va a escuela a las 7:45 por la mañana.

What do you guys think?  is my Spanish grammar a bit rough here?

7:45 = 8:00 minus 15 minutes, or 8:00 minus a quarter (cuarto) of an hour. - GuitarWarrior, Aug 25, 2011

That makes sense. I understand the "hora menos..." convention. I should have answered in kind - just thought it made more sense as :7:45 in written form. - _Mateo_, Aug 25, 2011

It might be more common to use the "menos" form when it's more than half past the hour, but it's fine to just write 7:45 :) - GuitarWarrior, Aug 25, 2011

Espero que mis padres me compren... In the third example the sentence sounds a little awkward to me in English. You should take out the pronoun tú in any case, and don't forget the accent in "estás". The child goes to school... Also you should use en/por in place of "de".

I would go with "me compran" but that is a style point.

The last one I am not sure about the English grammer, so am hesitente to suggest any corrections on the Spanish
