i would not put "dip in the road" in the same questions as a "recession" as far as i know the 2 do not correlate in spanish - toothpastechica, Aug 25, 2011
Ah... I didn't do it and I promise not to do it again! - Jeremias, Aug 25, 2011

Did you see this somewhere? Columpio means "playground swing". If I were to see the phrase "doble columpio económico" I would think "an economical (cheap) two-person swing."

For "double-dip recession" I would say "recesión secundaria" or "recesión de doble fondo" or "recaída económica" or something to that effect.

agreed, columpio is a swing. - toothpastechica, Aug 25, 2011
Well, I got this from my Mexican friend Normita, that's what she came up with. I wondered about it, so I asked. Like my SPanish, her English is intermediate, so there is always the possiblity for misunderstanding. - Jeremias, Aug 25, 2011

Tal vez sería "doble recesión" o "recaída de la economía".

Doble columpio económico (cheap two-person swing)

But as to "dip in the road?"

Anita la cubanita me sugestió una huella por esto, pero creo que debe ser algo mejor.

Huella sounds like it would be more like a pothole than a dip in the road.
