Maybe it is true that two people who have more or less the same character, will have more chance to end up in a boring marriage. I don't say I know it all . . . . . .

Ingeateacher, great phrase, but I have a little observation: "...probabilidad que terminen..." (delete "de"). And "monopolio del saber" is very poetic :) maybe you could say: "No es que lo sepa todo" :) - Animalescus, Aug 24, 2011
Muchas gracias, Animal, por corregirme otra vez . . . . :) - Ingeteacher, Aug 24, 2011

It´s not true! Opposites don´t attract. But all is not lost. Now I can sell her diamond tiara and still keep my dirty old cowboy hat.

Love is blind, don't you think? But I think is better that way, opposite couples with the same interests would be a nice idea.

My wife, this is not the main problem. I'm full of strange liquid and I need to go to the toilet.

I like curry, my wife likes rice.

I like vodka, my wife likes lemonade.

For me, together we make a good match grin

We have a very good writer, who wrote: A man and a woman are never be able to understand each other. because each wants something else . The man wants a woman. the woman wants a man.

He is one of the greatest writers of all time. Sad that Hollywood stole his "six degrees of separation," so much so that they are now considered the originators! Sad, but Hungarian is just too tough, so I won't ever be able to read him in the original. - territurtle, Aug 25, 2011
P.S. I see that you are from Budapest. I knew you were someone **very** special. Now I know you're one of those who can even "enter a revolving door behind you, and exit the other end ahead of you." ;) - territurtle, Aug 25, 2011

They say that opposites attract. But I wonder if they can stay together for a long time.

Edit: I'm not sure what to use at my English sentence: "if" or "whether"?

Inge & Migelis, human relationships are so complex that generalizations can't be made. - ianta, Aug 24, 2011

I think you miss "...los opuestos SE atraen" good prhase! - Animalescus, Aug 24, 2011
If sounds fine to me - but I'm no grammatarian ;-) - billygoat, Aug 24, 2011
Billygoat: If you say: "...los opuestos atraen" it feels that something is missing "los opuestos atraen ¿perros?, ¿cosas?, ¿personas?" that is the reason that you need "se" in the phrase :) - Animalescus, Aug 24, 2011
@ Animalescus: I think Billygoat is referring to my question about English :) - ianta, Aug 24, 2011
