People who correct
I am not trying to mean to those who like to do this but I find it annoying when people start correcting me with my English. For example, put a period not a question mark. Please vote on my question if you agree and tell me if you disagree. I am just wanting to see what y'all think about this. No offense to those who like to do this! Adios Amigos

No offense taken Poppy. I see you are new to the forum and new to our ways. 
The reason we correct spelling, grammar and punctuation is because this is a language learning site.
For the benefit of anyone learning either English or Spanish, it is important that they learn the correct way. Don't worry, I don't think there is one member of this forum who hasn't been lovingly corrected at some point or other.
We do it to help each other improve in both English and Spanish!!! 
Maybe you find it annoying, but those who come to this forum to learn English find it annoying that you can't be bothered using proper orthography and spelling, because they also learn by example, and they don't know whether you are writing correctly or not. Colloquial and informal styles are also important, but people who don't have a command of a foreign language cannot tell which one is which. Therefore, out of courtesy, at least warn potential learners that you can't be bothered writing in proper English, so they know what to expect. If you do that, I'll back you up.
I understand it can be annoying. It can also be hard to get used to -- especially since the rest of the Internet will expect you to abbreviate and misspell left and right in all forum posts.
However, for better or for worse, writing in correct English and Spanish is required at this forum. So, we all correct each other's posts (not just yours...we are always correcting little typos or pointing them out to each other). We also all attempt (to the best of our ability) to use correct spelling and grammar.
If you intend on participating here, you will have to try to use correct English and expect corrections to your posts. We are not trying to annoy you, though. We make corrections for the benefit of people for whom English is not their native language.
I wouldn't say we particularly enjoy it. Or, at least, I myself don't particularly care to do it. It's more like extra work than anything else.
Well as I recall you were told to add a period to a sentence ending and I corrected the original corrector by pointing out it needed a question mark. With that said all that you have read so far is the bottom line. This is a learning site so you have to keep that in mind and live with the corrections. You should also try to eliminate some of the text talk used in your comments, that to me is very annoying. As mentioned by Sonrisa you can always go to the Cafe for that.

Proper English is mandatory on the forum, and whether you like it or not, you have to use it. There are people learning English on SpanishDict, and it's irritating when you have to correct a fluent English speaker.
I see many grammatical mistakes in your post. We don't want to confuse our English learners here. We want the best for them.
SpanishDict is a learning site, not a social network like Facebook.
You have to use proper punctuation, grammar, spelling, and capitalization. If you prefer to use incorrect grammar, check out the International Café.
You find it annoying that you're being corrected? You are on a learning website.
Proper English on the forum shouldn't even have to be a rule; it should be understood.
Poppy, I really appreciate your friendliness with our responses. Thanks for the comments Again, we didn't want to sound mean or anything. It's just the forum rules. You don't want to face the wrath of Heidita, do you?
Poppy, I am a native English speaker who is normally very meticulous in checking and double checking my own mistakes which are normally just amount to typing errors but I am actually very grateful that people here take the trouble to point out my occasional mistakes so that I do not unintenionally lead people learning English, astray.
None of us are perfect - even as native speakers - and we may occasionally make a mistake which we might dismiss as insignificant but which could still confuse or mislead a person trying to learn our language.
Please do not think that I am criticising you this is not my intention I am simply pointing out that we can see those who point out our mistakes in a different light :as a blessing rather than a nuisance.
After all, don't book and newspaper editors offer corrections to authors who have been writing professioanally for years?

I know my English is atrocious (sp???)...well my grammer isn't too bad and I hope that my translating is more help then anything else, and yes it can be a little bit irritating, but as mentioned, for the sake of those learning English, don't be suprised or put off by people correcting you. It is humbling indeed, but sometimes it is good to be humbled for the sake of learning....I just wish there was a spellcheck!
