What is the difference between "qué and "que"?

Basically, "qué" is used as "what/such" as in "what do you mean?/such skill!" (qué quieres decir?/qué habilidad!) While "que" is used more as "that" as in "that which you told me" (lo que me dijiste).

I'm sure someone can give you a more rule oriented answer if you're looking for one.

" Qué " with the tilde is uses when asking a question,and usually means "what".

Example: ¿Qué quieres desayunar?

"Que" without the tilde is a conjunction used to link words.

Example: Hay que ir de compras hoy
