I would like to know which preposition follows the phrase "darse por vencido"... I have seen con, en and de all used, so now I am a bit confused.

Me doy por vencida con...

Me doy por vencida en...

Me doy por vencida de...

Here are some examples I found on Google search:

1.)

chicos en verdad que no se me estoy dando por vencida con los videos

2.)

ya me doy por vencido de este mundo, me doy por vencido en la gente,

Gracias de antemano smile

vencer + a + algiuen

vencieron al equipo visitante por 3 a 2 they defeated o beat the visiting team 3-2

vence a todos en elegancia he outdoes them all in style, he beats them all for style

This has nothing to do with what you asked raspberry but I'm researching it now.

darse por vencido + en + infinitive + que

I give up believing that she's a good person

Me doy por vencido en creer que es una buena personaa.

darse por vencido + con + noun

Me doy por vencido con ese problema matematica.

I give up on that maths problem.

the rest I don't know... these are just guesses ... educated guesses.

I hate to say this, but prepositions generally don't have rules in Spanish or English. . .set phrases are probably even worse than verbs when it comes down to it.

Okay, when is each one used then?

So, are there any rules?? Do you just use the one that sounds better? I am so confused with this one! >.

2 me doy por vencida en creer que el mundo va a cambiar.
