I hate when the last piece of the puzzle is missing.

Me disgusta cuando la pieza última del rompecabezas está desaparecida.

Deanski, I had to look up the word for "puzzle". I'm not sure if what I used is the best choice, or if I should just use the word "puzzle" in Spanish, too. - Tosh, Aug 20, 2011
"Me disgusta cuando falta la última pieza del rompecabezas." *Puzzle* is ok, too. Muy bien, Tosh - Deanski, Aug 20, 2011

It's funny when a dentist wakes up and finds out that one of his teeth is missing. It's even funnier when he can't remember how he lost it.

Es gracioso cuando un dentista se despierta y descubre que falta uno de sus dientes. Es aún más gracioso cuando no puede recordar cómo lo perdió.

Sometimes a sock can go missing, even when there is no dryer around.

En ocasiones un calcetín puede ir desaparecido aún cuando hay no secadora de ropa alrededor.

La esposa a el al esposo: Sí, encontré cado desaparecido cada dardo que faltaba, incluso los del lado cuarto de al lado.

Wife to husband: Yes, I found every missing dart, even the ones in the next room.

Note: Cada is used (regardless of the noun or gender) not cado.

Deanski, I'm not sure I understand why the use of falta. How does, mistake, lack, shortage, absence, translate to missing? If you need more room can you send me a PM? Muchas, gracias! - bandit51jd, Aug 21, 2011
More correct: La esposa *al* esposo: Sí, encontré cada dardo que *faltaba*, incluso los en el cuarto de al lado. (The state of it being missing is in the past, so we need to use the imperfect). I overlooked it, but the rest is OK. - Deanski, Aug 21, 2011

You need to conjugate "encontrar" - Amusing idea here! - pesta, Aug 20, 2011
Algunos hombres *encuentran* (encontrar conjugated to 3rd person plural to match "algunos hombres") las cosas antes de que se desaparezcan (subjunctive, verb is desaparecerse). Really, it's not that bad, Sr Ray.:) - Deanski, Aug 20, 2011
