Confusing English Words Challenge 29

Question

Algunas palabras en inglés pueden crear confusion en los principiantes.

Some words in English can be confusing for learners.

This one is to practice the following words - interest - interested - interesting

Both native Spanish and English speakers may answer - but write both Spanish and English sentences.

I would appreciate some help in checking the Spanish sentences.

Agradecería una cierta ayuda en la comprobación de las oraciones españolas.

I will "accept" the best effort after about a week

Every attempt will get a vote.

NOTE - we would normally need 2 sentences in both languages that illustrate how the following are used. It can be done in one sentence.

a) interest

b) interested

c) interesting

Futher explanation as to the different meanings may be given.

"una cierta ayuda" means "some certain help", and it sounds strange. Suggestions: "Agradecería cualquier ayuda / vuestra ayuda / su ayuda / ..." - lazarus1907, Aug 24, 2011

Diversidad de interesas hizo de su vida más interesante , atractivo y lleno de sensaciones extraordinarias.

I felt, that the child was interested in everything new , I knew ,he was growing up and learning the life.

My interest in the project grew bigger as soon as the strategy was laid down, it was very interesting to see even the opponents get interested in the outcome.

"Creció más grande" sounds weirdly redundant in Spanish, because "creció" means "grew bigger", so "creció más grande" sounds like "It grew bigger bigger". For emphasis, say "creció más". - lazarus1907, Aug 24, 2011

Also, "formulada" should agree with "estrategia". The last part means something different. It should say "Fue interesante ver cómo incluso la oposición estaba interesada en los resultados" (or similar alternatives) - lazarus1907, Aug 24, 2011
