First, did I write the title correctly? I wanted to say "anécdota examples."

In the email that I got for the word of the day, there was this example:

No dijo anécdotas de su tiempo en la selva. - He told us anecdotes about his time in the jungle.

Can someone tell me why "no" is in the Spanish sentence but not in the translation? Is it a typo, or have I learned nothing about how to negate a verb?

It must be a typo: Nos dijo anécdotas de su tiempo en la selva would fit the translation.
