Hi, the sentence is perfect in English.
Did you have a specific assignment where you had to write about your personal experience?
In my opinion, living in your home town brings back nice childhood memories.
I believe it is a too general because you don't say what type of memories.
Also, the word "nice" is a bit generic.
Words to use instead of nice/good: excellent; superior, fine, wonderful, life-changing, genuine, devine, beneficial, wonderful, lovely, perfect, incredible
May I suggest a revision?
1) In my opinion, living in your home town is reminder of the childhood experiences you still remember to this day.
2) In my opinion, living in your home town will remind you of memories that slipped from your mind long ago.
3) In my opinion, living in your home town brings back childhood memories that have continued to shape your personality to this day.
Your teacher may be looking for more discriptive words. Nice is a pretty broad word, maybe if you said memories of great fun or remindes you of the things you enjoyed as a kid.
If the excersise was designed to use discriptive words I would see why the teacher might not like the word nice, it is a very broad and general word. This link has lots of different discriptive words to choose from and to get to know:
