In Mexico: "camiseta" or "blusa"?!!

While in Mexico, I commented to a young girl that I liked her shirt by saying, "Me gusta tü camiseta." She looked at me like I was a little crazy!! I wondered if I'd used the wrong word? Does anyone know which word is used for shirt in Mexico?!!!

I do know that camiseta is usually (or at least often) a tee shirt, whereas blusa has the connotations associated with the English blouse

I'm not an expert on Mexican Spanish, but most places I've been:
camisa - shirt
camiseta - T-shirt
blusa - blouse
Your mileage may vary.
