mucho gusto and Jugo

Hi Spanishdict!

In the first spanish lesson I did on spanishdict, I learned that mucho gusto is used to say 'nice to meet you'. Now one of my spanish friends teached taught me that I should use encanta if I am a girl and that only men say mucho gusto to each other. Is that correct?

And what is the correct translation for juice: Jugo or Zumo?

Welcome to the forums. I've made a minor grammar correction to your post, to prevent confusion with users who are also learning English. - S1r_Wakka, Aug 11, 2011

Mucho gusto means nice to meet you. you can also say Encantado/Encantada de conocerte. Both expression are correct.

juice = Zumo ( of fruit), Jugo ( of meat0

Not necesarily of meat. I've often seen Jugo de Naranja on menu cards. Perhaps 'zumo' is specifically for fruit and 'jugo' more general - S1r_Wakka, Aug 11, 2011

This is the first time I hear about that chicas can't say mucho gusto, but I'm not Spanish so I assume that your Spanish friends know this better. It could be a local habit. I'm keeping an eye on this question, though. Guys can say encantado, btw.

As for the translation of juice, both are correct.
