Why is the correct form of this sentence not "Les pedí prestados estos zapatos a mi amiga." Rosetta Stone says it should be "Le pedí prestados estos zapatos a mi amiga"

LE because you have used "a mi amiga." AMIGA is singular and so Le the singular form is used...If you switch to the plural form "a mis amigas," then the match would be LES, the plural form.
