"to sound like"
There are a number of slang-ey uses of "to sound like" in English, such as "Sounds good to me!", but what I'm wondering is how to say "to sound like" in the context of actually sounding to one's ear, such as trying to describe how a Spanish idiom sounds strange to my English ears. Would one simply use parecer?
Thanks very much!

Sounds good to me! = Suena bien / Me parece una buena idea
It sounds strange to me = Me suena extraño
Me suene extraño would come closest.
But me parace extraño is equally correct, as far as I know.
