Would I use "o" or "u" here?

I know that both mean or, and that "u" is only used for words that start with an O, but my question is about words that start with "ho" like "Honduras" or "hondo".

For example, which would I use here:

"Eres Colombiano o/u Hondureño?"

You change "o" to "u" when the next word starts with the "o" sound. That means "ho" also since "h" is silent.

When "or" precedes a word that begins with the sound "o," it changes to 'u'.

This includes words that begin with o and ho.

So the answer is yes 'u' for Hondureño smile

O > U Lesson 4.2

In this case I would say yes, use "u."

Hi:

You need use "u" because "h" has no sound, so the rule still remains...
