I just came across "da a luz" and from context and then double checking in a translator found it means to give birth. What a wonderful expression.

In Chinese, "uterus" is "zigong" (??), meaning "the palace/temple of the child". How about that?

There are different alternatives to say the same:
"dar a luz"
"Alumbrar"
"Parir"
And I'm a agree with you, I think every language has a wonderful expressions, just there are waiting for us to find it...
