"Consentir" in Romantic Setting

"Consentir" in Romantic Setting

I'm watching a Spanish teen soap opera and the guy says this to the girl:

Quiero consiento por ti

I looked it up and I see that it means "to permit", but in a colloquial environment like this, what would consentir mean?

Thanks for your continued help!

I think it would probably have been 'quiero consentir' and consentir can also mean to spoil or pamper so I was thinking perhaps he was saying 'I want to pamper or spoil you'?

But in that case I don't think that the por ti makes sense then.

To say I want to pamper you it would more likely be something like 'quiero consentirte'.

If it really was 'quiero consentir por ti' that's more like I want to allow or spoil/pamper because of you???

Sorry I've probably confused things even more - I should have stopped while I was behind je je- anyway can you rewind and have another listen because it definitely wouldn't have been quiero consiento ... lol smile

Haha, I played it over and over again to make sure. I'll listen again in the morning when I'm more conscious to life, haha. - brianelliottlavoie, Aug 6, 2011
