Mexican Dictionary?
A few months ago, I heard that someone would soon produce a dictionary of MEXICAN spanish, believing that there are now a sufficient amount of differences between mexican spanish from other spanish to justify this.
I'd like to know your thoughts on this, and have any other spanish speaking countries done something similar.
---thanks much.

I think there have been Mexican Spanish dictionaries online for some time. Books are usually jargon for specific fields: medical, legal, engineering, IT, etc.

This was the URL for a popular Mexican online dictionary, but it is currently under construction and not available.
- Diccionario del Español Usual en México
- El DEUM. Del Colmex. Dirigido por Luis Fernando Lara.
They are on Facebook, but no idea when their site will be back up.-
Then, there are this type of Mexican dictionaries:
BODYWASH:I can't go to tha cantina tonite cuz no BODYWASH my kids.
SHOULDER : My tia wanted 2 become a citizen but she didn't know how to read so I SHOULDER
COCKATOO:My friend was in the bathroom and I told him to hurry because I had to go COCKATOO!
The "Diccionario del Español Usual en México" (not exactly a "new" thing) is a very serious academic dictionary, but you'll find that over 90% of it is just... Spanish! It is available on-line, and I do recommend it to anyone interested in going to Mexico.
This is a dictionary of Mexican slang:
