Claro or Por supuesto

Question

I'm just listening to euro news in spanish as I do most days, they seem to use Por supuesto fro 'of course' I have been using Claro

Hi Steve, and welcome. I think it's good to learn a bunch of little conversational pieces to recognize and also to have ready when you are speaking. So in addition to Por supuesto, claro, and Mariana's excellent suggestion of ¿Como no?, you could add Claro que si, or even the idiomatic desde luego. Or perhaps naturalmente. Or seguro, which can be used like these others or ironically, by changing your voice tone, like the English Sure, or Right.

(I just exhausted my vocabulary on this one!)

Hey, Steve. Welcome to the forum.

"Por supuesto and "Claro" can be used interchangeably. I also use "¿Cómo no?" (Why not? Sure!)
