For my final project, I have to answer questions my teacher asked me. I just want to double check and make sure I didn't make any stupid mistakes. My teacher is the clerk and I'm the shopper. Thank you!

  • Clerk: ¿En qué puedo servirle?
  • You: Yo quiero unos pantalones.
  • Clerk: Tenemos muchos diferentes pantalones. ¿Qué color prefieres?
  • You: prefiero azul.
  • Clerk: Tenemos muchos pantalones. ¿Quieres probarte estos pantalones?
  • (Tú te los pruebas –You try them on)
  • Clerk: ¿Cómo te quedan?
  • You: muy apretado.
  • Clerk: Quieres probarte esos pantalones. Son más grandes.
  • (Tú los pruebas –You try them on)
  • Clerk: ¿Cómo te quedan?
  • You: ¡muy bien! ¿cuanto cuesta los pantalones?
  • Clerk: Cuestan cuatrocientos pesos ¿Cómo va a pagar?
  • You: Pago con efectivo.
  • Clerk: Muy bien. Aquí tiene. Muchas gracias. Nos vemos.
  • You: ¡gracias! ¡adios!

Don''t use hypens for dialogues. This editor sees that as a formatting code. - 0074b507, Aug 4, 2011

You are switching back and forth from formal to informal.

Clerk: ¿En qué puedo servirle?

You have the saleperson addressing you formally.

¿Qué color prefieres? (informal)

¿Quieres probarte.... ? (informal)

¿Cómo te quedan? (informal)

¿Cómo va a pagar? (formal)

Aquí tiene. (formal)

3 formal 3 informal. I would go with formal. I think store clerks usually use the formal tone with customers (strangers).

cuánto, adiós

Nice catch, Q! I would have to give that inconsistency the most weight! - cristalino, Aug 4, 2011

You - muy apretados

You - ¡muy bien! ¿cuanto cuestan los pantalones?

El resto está muy bien.

Saludos.

Also:

Me/yo - Prefiero azul.

Clerk/dependiente -Tenemos muchos pantalones en azul, o de color azul....

Otherwise it sounds repetative with the previous line.... tongue wink
