How would you say "spread a large sheet of paper out in the middle of the room?"
I know there are a number of words to use for spread and am looking for the best one
extender - a large sheet of paper?
poner - a large sheet of paper?
colocar
situar
Which would you use??????

Of these choices extender implies spreading something out, like a newspaper. The other choices indicate to put something at a location, but not the concept of spreading out, or extending.

desplegar (unfold map...desdoblar) (unfurl flag) is often used.
abrir can also be used with that meaning (open up)

I would say poner. I have never used colocar.
