I want to tell mi amigo not to forget me. I was told I can say, "No te olvides de mi" Couldn't i just say "No me olvides"?

Both sentence sentences are correct and has have identical sense meanings.
Ambas oraciones están correctas y son identicas en su significado.

Nick, I'm pretty sure we don't attach pronouns to negative commands. "Olvídame" is an affirmative command, It means "Forget me". - GuitarWarrior, Aug 3, 2011

I'd say 'no me olvides' because in this sense it can't be reflexive.
No te olvides de mi could mean, don't forget about me. Here yes it can be reflexive (olvidarse)
