Bendicion, in a different context...

growing up, we were taught to greet our elders with "bendicion", they in turn would respond, "Que Dios te cuide y acompane" or "Dios te bendiga". I still don't understand this and both, my mom and grandma have past on. Could you please explain to me? We are from Puerto Rico

Welcome to the forum!

You can put these words into the translator and find out what they mean.

My translation is:

"Blessings."

"May God care for you and accompany you."

"God bless you."
