I understand this may be off topic of your question ; I do not know your level of learning.
So for that reason I will offer an opinion, and only an opinion Westpointgirl. Master the the three simple tenses first , simple past, present and future. With these three you can manage all manner of simple structure, Once comfortable with that ,move on to more complex tenses.

I would make the following comments.
When teaching English to Spanish speaking students the word subjunctive is hardly ever used even up to Upper intermediate level = good level.
The reason is that in English the subjunctive is often not thought about and in comparison to Spanish VERY simple,
When you use some of the Modals in English you would need to use the subjunctive in Spanish. So try putting something like this into the translator and see what you get.
"I would speak Spanish if I could" - 'hablaría españoñ si pudiera'
But be careful because the translations are not always that good.
As Paco suggests learn the simple present - past and future well before trying to use the Spanish subjunctive,.

You use it when expressing emotions/feelings , when there is doubt or uncertainty involved, when you are talking about something hypothetical or that doesn't exist, when a direct or indirect command is being made. Do you have a specific question?
