Unless you are usuing some of the more unusual synonyms for a "rock pile" [chain-gang like labor] it is commonly written as simply a "montón de piedras".

When I lived in Mexico there was a hill made of huge boulders that we called "El Pedregoso" don't know if thats what your looking for but its esentially "the rocky place"
