por semana/ a la semana

Hi there! smile Are these two forms correct? : una vez a la semana, una vez por semana (or maybe por la semana)? I learned that first version is better but several times I`ve already seen the second too. Can anybody explain me the difference, please? smile Maybe it depends on region? And how would it be with: día, año and mes? POR.. or AL..?
smile thanks!!

Both are correct and equivalent in the examples you enquire about.

I see that enquire is a variant of inquire...I've never seen it spelled that way before. Now I 'll have to check the etymology to see which is closer to Latin, Greek or wherever it comes from. - 0074b507, Aug 1, 2011
Hmm...Middle English/French with an "e"; Latin with an "I", guess that is why both exist. - 0074b507, Aug 1, 2011

Both are correct. Remember that one of the uses of por is frequency/number of times something happens in a given time period.
