When *mi* and when *mí*?

I always mess these up. When used possessive it's mi and when used to point it's mí? So

Mi padre tiene 50 años.

Para mí el tenis es más interesante que el fútbol.

That correct?

Thanks

mi = my

mi perro , my dog

mí = me

A mí - to me

More simply and less technical: mi equals "my", everything else is mí

Mí when it is the object of a preposition (para mí, a mí, cerca de mí. etc.)

Mi (mío) when it is a possessive adjective.
