¿Que es lavado de tambor?

Hola, hello, and I hope somebody can tell me what this Ciclo is on my washing machine called Lavado de Tambor.

I have cycles that I understand like Rápido and Pesado, but for a drum washing machine, what is the meaning of a cycle that uses the word Tambor? It's redundant (I think) and doesn't describe the type of cycle to me.

I thought of using that cycle one day to see what it would do. I didn't want anything to explode on me, so I chickened (bawwwk) out.

I thought I lived dangerously?

I was looking through this washing maching manual (in Spanish) to see if it mentioned that cycle. It did not, but the pictures were in English. I noticed that there is a Clean Drum cycle (auto clean). It is for cleaning the drum of residual soaps, etc. similar to the setting on self-cleaning ovens. Could that be what you are seeing.?

lavado de tambor=cleaning the drum

I found another manual in Spanish.

I am 99.9% positive that it is tumble wash. Live dangerously!

So tambor can sometimes be used to mean tumble. An example I found is máquina de tambor which is spanish for a tumbler machine.

I forgot all about Tumble Wash, but this is a rotating drum (is that the right way to say it?) I think it must be a cycle for cleaning the drum. OK, I have to try it just for fun. - Pablo-Peligroso, Jul 29, 2011
