Question

Another passive voice question, sorry, haha... How would I say "I've been told that blah blah...?"

Me han dicho que? Or would it be something else?

Se me ha dicho/ se me ha informado

Me fue dicho/ me fue informado

"Me han dicho que [esto ocurrió o que eso sucedió]..." sounds good to me! It would be how I would express it, but I could be wrong... it would be understood that "they" are telling you or you heard it from "them"....

"Me han dicho que..." will work for both this and "I've heard that..."

I've heard that Spain is a beautiful country. = Me han dicho que España es un país hermoso.

I've been told that this ocean is cold. = Me han dicho que este oceano está frío.

It seems that in spoken Spanish, you generally construct the passive by saying:

Me han dicho que... ("They" told me that...)

In written Spanish it tends to be

(Yo) fue dicho que... (I was told that...)

I've been told that - He estado diciendo que.

I've been told a story - He estado contando una historia

Decir y contar son sinónimos.

But I think your sentence sounds more natural to natives.

I'll wait for more advanced speakers to help you with "Me han dicho que... (They have told me that...)", which looks good to me.

What may be more natural is

Andar de boca en boca...

To be generally known...

It comes from one person's mouth, someone hears it, another person hears it, then someone else hears it... and eventually, somehow, someone tells it to you. You have been told. Of course it doesn't mean exactly what you are saying, but I hope this helps
