The comma in incorrect in this context. It is "look alert". - 0074b507, Jul 27, 2011

"Alerta" is a word we use. especially when going out at night in our somewhat troubled zone of northern México.
The phrase would go something like this: Vete con cuidado cariño, ¡alerta, por favor!.
The meaning is the same as " go with care my dear, be alert" in english.
